ألقت مباحث سوهاج القبض على عاطل عن العمل لقيامه بسرقة مجموعة من الطيور "الحمام والأرانب" من أحد المنازل المجاورة له بدائرة قسم ثانٍ سوهاج بمحافظة سوهاج.
بدأت أحداث الحادث مرة أخرى عندما تلقى اللواء الدكتور حسن محمود مساعد وزير الداخلية ومدير أمن سوهاج إخطارا من مدير مركز شرطة سوهاج يفيد بتلقي بلاغ من المواطن (سامية. م. أ. ن - 50 سنة - بالمعاش ومقيمة دائرة قسم ثانٍ سوهاج)، شخص مجهول ، يقوم بسرقة كمية من الطيور من مسكنها بالدائرة ، بالتسلل داخل المسكن ، ولم يتهم أحد بالسرقة. .
كشفت التحقيقات السرية عن حقيقة الحادث وذلك وراء ارتكاب الحادث (عاطف. ع. د. ع -31 سنة - عاطل - ومقيم قسم أول سوهاج).
وبعد الحصول على إذن النيابة العامة تمكنت وحدة التحقيق من القبض على المتهم والاعتراف بالواقعة وضبط المسروقات بتوجيهاته.
وبإحالة النيابة العامة أمرت بحبسه 4 أيام على ذمة التحقيق ، وتم تسليم المسروقات و 16 زوجًا من الحمام وعدد من الأرانب لصاحبها.
